Scenes from walks in and around the city
 | Start your tour of New Plymouth in its main street - Devon St (East and West). You can pick up pamphlets on the many official city walks for the nearby parks and reserves at the city information center |
A few blocks north of Devon Street is New Plymouth's fairly quiet harbour front.
 | Looking out from the harbour (at dusk). Right on the waterfront is Kawaroa Park with swimming pools and recreational areas. |
Scenic and Coastal walks include:
- Pukekura Park near the city center has gardens, lakes and a pretty waterfall - you can also get a great view of Mt Taranaki from here.
- Brooklands Park also fairly close to the city also has a lovely lake as well as an amazing rhododendron section
- Te Hunui Walkway is one of the historic walkways, with 5 old pas along the way.
- Taranaki National Park has the magnificent mountain, Mt Taranaki or Mt Egmont - we'll have a seperate section for this area on the site soon.
