Shift Hui 2018 – 20 to 23 April 2018 – Porirua

Shift is a hui (gathering) for young people of minority sexualities, genders and sex characteristics run by InsideOUT! Join them for 4 days and 3 nights of making connections, learning about different issues facing the rainbow community, taking part in workshops and activities (talent show!) and gaining new skills and knowledge to help you set up and/or sustain a queer straight alliance/diversity group in your school or take other actions to make your school or community a safer place. We want to see a shift in the dominant culture and see Aotearoa New Zealand as a safe place for everyone, regardless of their sex, sexuality or gender.

WHERE: Te Hourota Marae, Whitford Brown Ave, Porirua, Wellington

WHEN: Friday 20th to Monday 23rd April 2018

COST:

Free – If you can’t afford to pay a registration fee, that’s okay, everyone is welcome at the hui! We do encourage you to reach out to your school or community group to assist with covering the registration cost if possible.

Koha – a donation of any amount (could be $10, could be $10,000!)

$50 or more – Unwaged registration cost as a contribution towards your food and accommodation for the hui

$100 – Full registration cost. This is for people who are able to pay in full or are being sponsored to come by their school/youth council/youth group or anyone else. This money goes towards covering food and accommodation costs for the hui and means we can continue to run events like this!
